Newport resident Jeremy Swallow followed in his father's footsteps and became a lawyer. A respected member of the community, he is elected moderator of the town council (equivalent to being mayor) and a member of Rhode Island's legislature. After the French and Indian War, he weathers the economic storm and purchases a house for his family on Broadway Street.
